Marlborough is 75 miles from London and 30 miles from Bath.
From London, take M4, leave at junction 14 and take the A4 for Marlborough
From the West, take M4, leave at junction 15 and take the A346 for Marlborough
The Merchant’s House is on the North Side of the High Street approximately 100 yards from the Town Hall.
Parking is available on Marlborough High Street which is short stay or behind Waitrose (SN8 4BY) for long stay.
Due to its age, The Merchant’s House has uneven floors and floor level changes throughout. The stairs on the main staircase are shallow but eneven.
A stairlift is available from the ground floor to the first floor which allows access to the principal rooms, but the doorframes may not fit a wide wheelchair.
Ramps are available on site for wheelchair access on the ground floor and to some of the garden.

Coach parties welcome
The Merchant’s House welcomes Groups and Coach Parties but they must be arranged in advance.

Refreshments
Marlborough High Street has numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants offering a range of refreshments.
Toilets are NOT available.
Schools groups welcome
The Merchant’s House welcomes children for educational visits from Year 1 to Sixth Form (charges may apply). Educational visits are tailored to suit the age of the children and the focus of the tour is adjusted to re-enforce and enhance their current historical learning. Areas include The 1653 Great Fire of Marlborough, and what life was like for a 17th century Merchant and his Household.
Home school groups, Guides, Scouts and other groups are also welcome to visit The Merchant’s House.
